My Life in Two Acts
by Tina A. Burkhalter
PLF is so excited to co-produce this show with The Wayward Artists at Grand Central Art Center in Santa Ana. Selections from Tina's poetry and playwriting was featured in PLF's previous show, Project #WomenGetLoud.
"Being able to present this work in a fully realized production just seemed like the natural step" says Project La Femme Co-Artistic Director Katie Chidester, "Tina's voice is unique and dynamic. She speaks to the female experience with humor and vulnerability."
Project #WomenGetLoud
Our first live performance took place on March 8th as a fundraiser for She Should Run. We raised over $500 and have an inspiring night of stories and scenes.
Women's March OC!
We headed to Santa Ana to participate in the March for 2018. This was a great way to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of PLF, an idea discussed in the after-hours of the 2017 March. Here's a few pics from 2018 taken by resident PLF photographer, Amber Scott!

#Imnotdisposable
I'm Not disposable
Amidst the national civil unrest and clash of ideologies in Charlottesville that resulted in the death of a protestor, an online website editor wrote:“ Most people are glad she is dead, as she is the definition of uselessness. A 32-year-old woman without children is a burden on society and has no value.”
In response to this we are compelled to create a flash movement of positivity that focuses on the individual and their benefit in relation to their community. Our goal is to cultivate dialogue through this " I am not disposable" project and asking:
What is your value?
Proccess : At the event we will be taking professional photos of participants answers on large white paper and using them to create a multimedia video to be released shortly after the event.
The event is free and we hope that you will join us in promoting positivity in our community - everyone is invited to participate.
