Hi all!
We here at PLF hope that you are well, safe, and healthy. We may have been a little quite on social media lately, but we are definitely still here!
So what have we been up to?
We are beyond proud to have been able to celebrate International Women’s Day virtually this year. A giant thank you to Tina A. Burkhalther, Maile Walker, Alison Fradken & Monique C. Aldred, Isabella Stoloff, Allie Costa, Chicanos, Cholas y Chisme, and Jeanette Obeji for sharing your videos with our community. If you missed them, they are still available on our YouTube channel, and Facebook page.
Since this Spring, we have been collaborating with the Orange County Theatre Guild to help them develop their EDIA (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility) program. The main feature currently of this project is putting together a Standards and Guidelines document to help local theatres develop creative spaces that are safer for everyone, and shift perspecitives to a wider range of voices and experiences. PLF is a major proponent of this work, as it is part of our mission to promote the work of women, BIPOC, queer, disabled, and other artists who have traditionally been sidelined in the community.
And there is still more to come! Presently, we are working on new projects and ideas, so stay tuned for more information coming soon.
Stay safe, please vaccinate, and remember to subvert the patriarchy whenever you can!
